I'm back with 2 short poems and their backstories!
This first poem was for an assignment in my writing elective. We were instructed to write two words, one that makes you happy, and one that makes you sad. Then we had to choose one to write a poem about. I chose the happy one, starlight, but the poem ended out evoking a more melancholy emotion.
Starlight
The stars glisten in the night sky
Beaming onto the Earth
Things come and go but one thing is forever
The light as these stars burn
This second poem was inspired by the poetry prompt generator from yesterday's tot.
Piercing Hunger
The blackened fruitcake was still appetizing
It blared to her mouth
In longing
Isterica finally picked up a piece
She savored every bite
Even the taste of burnt feet
