National Poetry Month 2023

Happy National Poetry Month! I know we’re a bit late, but I was busy with my sister’s birthday and spring break. From now until the end of April, I’ll be posting a poem every weekday! But there’s a challenge…

To have some variety in both my writing and your reading, and to make it more fun, I have some themes that the poems must follow! Each day has a different topic that must be mentioned at least once in the poem (explicitly or implicitly), while still fitting in with the overarching weekly theme. This week's theme is nature! I don't really go outside much, or write or draw about nature, so it'll be nice to try some poems about it for a couple days.

Tomorrow's poem has to mention lemons, since it's the topic of the day, and has to relate to nature somehow. But what about the smiley face next to it? That's the icon that marks the mood of the poem. Tomorrow's poem requires a happy, joyful, or excited mood, something that evokes a smile, like the icon on the calendar. If a day doesn't have a mood icon, feel free to have any emotion!

I hope you all like the idea and want to participate! You can write your poem on your own, but you can also submit it to be featured in my daily posts. To have your poem showcased, you must...

1) Write your poem following the guidelines for the day you want your poem posted.

2) Copy-paste it (or upload a clear, high quality picture) of your poem to the form corresponding to the week your poem is for.

3) Fill out the rest of the information and submit the form!

You must complete the form at least 2 days in advance for it to be featured on The Quarantime Tots. I'll still read the rest of the poems though!

I'm looking forward to reading all of your excellent poems, and I can't wait to write. You don't have to write a poem every single day, but I know I'll be writing and posting mine. Happy National Poetry month, and I'll see you tomorrow!
