DAWN

The sky is like obsidian flecked with silver

It lightens faster and faster, a dark blue

The rising sun sheds light upon our world

The land is dark, the morning new

The birds sang as the day unfurled,

Ready to wake and bloom

The crickets chirped, the owl slept

With a boom, the sky wept

Once again the sky was dark

Lightning struck, leaving no mark

Thank you for reading Part 1, of DAWN. The next part will come out soon. In addition look forward to new stories from the "In the blink of an eye" series, and our Spring Special Issue!
