Wishing

Every penny in the well A story can tell Of someone who had a wish And dropped their coin down among the fish Black water now shines bright With wishes ever hidden from sight Tales of those who lost things Tales of those who wanted wings Stories of want and greed Stories of desperate need

Every coin has a tale Chronicles of what they thought they'd fail Memories of what is gone Hopes for a new dawn Anecdotes of those skeptics who ranted

That the wishes would never be granted

We are here the shiny pennies boast For whoever needs our tales the most
