Ari's Wish
____________
Hundreds of moons ago there was a swan named Ari, who found everything around her dull and boring. One day when Ari was swimming she dove down and found a tunnel. She followed the tunnel till she found herself in a deep well. Sitting over the deep well was a little girl. She was sitting there, sighing. "I wish we didn't have school tomorrow" she sighed. Now Ari, who had nothing better to do decided to grant the poor little girl's wish. She, with the help of a few other swans and beavers made a hole in the beaver dam, and flooded the school. The next day word slowly spread among the children, that the well granted wishes. The little girl had rightly assumed that her wish from standing near the well came true. However not seeing Ari, she thought that the well was granting the wishes. Soon a group of children, who wanted to know if the well worked, made 3 wishes.
I wish that I had a pet puppy.
I wish it would rain tomorrow.
I wish the flood would go away for the weekend.
Now, Ari as you will remember found the world dull and boring and decided granting wishes would be fun. So she swam out of the well found a tiny stray puppy sitting near a tree. She asked it to come with her and become the pet of the first little boy, who was very happy when the stray came to his door looking too adorable for his mother to resist. Next Ari flew up to the clouds and asked them to rain the next day. Finally she closed up the dam so that it would all dry up before the weekend. Soon when these stories were spread the well was called the wishing well. Many people made wishes by the well after this and Ari made herself busy. Slowly as she kept on making wishes come true, nature indeed rewarded her. One day she gained the power of granting wishes, even the most impossible ones with magic. Now this overjoyed Ari. However, now that she did not have to do anything to make the wishes come true, again the world grew dull and boring. The children noticed that the wishes weren't as lovely anymore. If they wished for snow to cancel school, a blizzard would lock them inside. This was because Ari was bored and found no more fun in granting the wishes of the children. The children resolved that whatever the wishing spirit was, was sad, and they should start paying her to get the wishes. So they threw tiny pennies into the well. Ari found these beautiful. They sparkled in the bottom of the well and Ari loved playing with them. Some she turned into magic lily pads, and placed them in the bottom of certain other wells. These granted wishes too. The wishes were wonderful again. Other animals liked the cents too, and the river became a lovely peaceful place. Ari was finally content to grant the wishes, as long as a steady flow of copper coins would be coming along with them. ____________________________________________
Interesting! Good that Ari is happy at least. _______________________________________________
Now, seeing as most of our readers are our fellow 5th graders, you know that soon school is ending! So, enjoy a funny yet true, story about before I properly met adventure girl. And she cannot deny it. It is very true. -_______________________
Once, during my time at school… something funny… hmmm… I don’t remember anything funny… Okay let us take a minute to think... Once during 3rd or 4th grade for recess, I was walking around the courtyard with my friend Amazing Girl. Then we ran into Amaira and Shyla/Adventure Girl. At that time I didn’t really know them that well. Amaira, said that Shyla, was horribly ill and thought she was some animal or the other, I can’t remember what. Well, at the times before, mostly during recess, that I had seen Shyla, she seemed to be in the habit of having some weird made up ailment. I’m sure she can agree that she used to do that. And Shyla, you cannot deny it, you used always do that. Anyway, we thought that was normal for Shyla. Because, as I said before, I did not know her that well so I didn’t know she could be that normal. She seemed very odd before I properly met her. Anyway, then being under the tree, I recall Shyla randomly deciding to make animal noises and do hopscotch. It was very weird.

Well though she hasn't been an animal for a while, Adventure Girl, we all know is undeniably crazy and insane. If you ask her, she'll say "BREAD"
