IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLL
For me. Ugh.
When this is posted, I'll still be in class. My school is from 9:15 - 4:15, but I'm gone from 8:30 - 4:30 each day (bus). New teachers, new grade, somewhat new school...I hope I don't have Orchestra...
Let me explain the whole thing.
I started piano in around 2nd grade, and restarted around 4th grade. In 3rd and 4th grade, I also played the clarinet, and in 6th grade, I started the violin. I now barely have any interest in either.
My school works like this: In 6th grade, you choose a music class, Band, Chorus, or Orchestra. You can choose up to 2, but you don't have to choose any. If you choose none, you will rotate between art, technology, and P.E. as your electives throughout the 3 years of middle school. If you choose 2 (Chorus and one of the others, you're not allowed to play 2 instruments), you'll have those two music classes for all of middle school. If you choose one, you'll have that for all of middle school, and rotate between art, tech, and P.E. for your other elective.
That's the problem... I chose Orchestra in 6th grade, and don't want to continue. Instead, I'd like to take up Chorus. I'm hoping that since I left after the first month or so of school, and was only actually attending the school for a week and a half, that they canceled the violin for me. Even if they did, I'm not sure if I'll get to choose a new music elective, Chorus.
Anyways, by now, I'll know the situation, if I have Orchestra or no music class. Hopefully I'll be able to swap something out for Chorus!
Here's a quick poem before I sign off. I wrote it in April or May!
My school is ending
Your school is not
But mine starts again
In August, when yours does not
From September to June
All you New Jersey folks suffer
But a month or two’s difference
May to August is my summer!
Sorry, have you been waiting for My Idiosyncratic Area? Stay tuned for Wednesday!
