Summer Sometimes Tot

Hey everyone! I'm going to only post sometimes now, since no one really reads this!

The Money Man

Somewhere, there is a man who is made of money. Quite literally. His toes are green pennies and his eyes are dimes, his ears are nickels and his hair is made up of 100 dollar bills. The Money Man is as poor as dirt, and often sad. For a long time, the Money Man had no friends and no one to go to. Often people welcomed him in and acted friendly, only to try to lock him up for his money. Nobody ever really liked him, and never saw past their own greed to see a person who was quite amicable and equally lonely. The Money Man could never spend money, for only a fool would rip hair out of his head and cut off his limbs for luxury. By and by however the Money Man met a little blind boy who had no parents and needed badly to be taken care of. And so the Money Man took care of the boy, who never saw any value in the Money Man besides the companionship and kindness offered to him. For himself the Money Man would not make any sacrifices, but for the sake of the dear little boy he pulled out all his hair to buy a lovely house for him, cut off his fingers so that he could go to a good school, and got smaller and smaller till he was only a head with toes, but the little blind boy could not see his adoptive parent's afflictions, and only saw a cheerful old soul who seemed to get happier everyday, for his deed was it's own reward and he regretted nothing, except that he could not stay around longer to take care of the boy. So the Money Man pulled silver out of his head and gold from his feet to put in the bank for the little blind boy to use when the Money Man was no longer there. And the little blind boy, who did not want for much, one day timidly asked his benefactor if he might somehow be able to see. And the Money Man let his hair grow long and plucked it to raise the money for the operation, and pulled the dimes out of his eyes, and the nickels from his ears, and severed his penny toes. It cost him much pain, but the little boy came able to see once more. But when the little boy looked around to see his benevolent caretaker, he only saw a gold coin on the floor with a smiling face that looked up on him with joy and pride. The poor little boy grew sad, for though he could now see the world, gone from it was the one person who he cared for most, and who had taken care of him through all his years. So, the little boy went back to the house and spent his money carefully, for he knew how much pain it had cost the Money Man to give it to him. He buried the gold coin in the garden and surrounded it with little pebbles, where the last remnant of the Money Man would forever lay in peace. But you know what? The Money Man wasn't done after all. For from the little gold coin grew a splendid tree where forever money grew, and the little boy remained prosperous all his life, always remembering his childhood caretaker, The Money Man, and remaining kind and generous to everyone even if it wouldn't benefit him.
