SNOWMAN SECTOR

Welcome to this world of poetry,

It shall be fun indeed

Here are some poems for you to read

They will be about snowmen on christmas eve

Owl in flight

It was nearly midnight

but the owl was in flight

Far away from the pine tree forest

Just looking for a place to rest

On a chilly winter night

The owl flew and flew and flew

Soon she would be frozen and blue

She needed somewhere to nest

She looked left and right

There was nowhere in sight

To rest that cold winter night

Then she spotted something new

She blinked, but it was true

A snowman had appeared out of the blue!

With a cozy winter hat

Its head would be a perfect nest

So she swooped down and on it she sat

Now she could finally rest

But she was hungry too

Where could she get food?

What could she do?

Take my nose, it will taste rather good

Said the snowman, sensing her mood

Thank you, thank you, but then what will you do?

Someone might come

With another one

Otherwise I'll leave it up to you

When the night is over

You might fly and by and by

And get a nose anew!

A Winter Rose

Once there was a snowman who was missing a nose

He need a replacement before winter’s end

Otherwise his nose would not mend

Carrots seemed to be the trend

But he wanted something new

Of which there were only few

He wondered what he could possibly do

Then he had an thought

He spoke to an owl to send his message

Now we will see what the owl brought

The snowman had achieved his goal

All the way from the north pole

The owl had brought a rose

To be the snowman’s nose

It was a rose that had froze

A gift from Santa

Who had certainly chose

The right nose

This next poem, you shall see

Is about a snowman who was missed

By three kids

So one summer day they came to a decision

They would recreate him with precision

But it was summer what would they do!

They had ideas many or few

A Summer Snowman

Let us use dirt and mud to do it

That is what the first child said

No, let us use blocks of ice

Said the second child who remembered dirt would have a muddy price

No! that would melt and that would fall, I have an idea, that will top you all

Said the third and wisest child

We shall make it out of cotton

Sew it together and make the nose a button.

It shall be magnificent

Yes indeed!

The other children agreed

They sewed and stitched

From morning to night

Until their snowman was done

There would be no other form of fun.

Finally they finished the toy

Oh, how it filled them with joy!

They were full of pride!

They put the snowman in a stroller and took him for a ride.

Oh, this snowman would not melt

How happy the children felt

The Creeping Dark

Today is another poem for you

Once there was a snowman who was feeling blue

There were no other snowmen in sight

He would be quite lonely tonight

The noises of the night all gave him a fright

What could he possibly do!

Ideas there were few.

He waited through the night

And then he saw the morning’s first light

He cried in joy and delight

All the children came out

Then they began to run and shout!

They built more snowmen all around him.

Soon the clearing was filled to the brim

That night the snowman hosted a party

Every snowman was feeling quite hearty

Soon everyone was very tired

They slept through night

Why are you so sleepy?

The animals inquired

Just yesterday I thought the forest was creepy

Said the snowman feeling a bit weepy

But with friends even few

I see the night in a different hue!

Yes, and that was the winter poetry collection! I hope you enjoyed it.
