Hi!! Adventure Girl does tots for a week and I get super lazy. L.O.L. Anyway I'm starting a new series called Effulgence at Exchange Place, which will contain poems and descriptions of the most wondrous places on earth. This will be followed by The Wind Around West Windsor, when I think I have done justice to the marvel we call Jersey City. I hope you enjoy the first poem in the series....
The Picturesque Peninsula
Light glistens on the river
The Hudson owns the city
Grass is emerald always
The wind sings in pity
Sympathy from the sunrays
To those who don't live in this city
The rocks hide behind trees
That ruffle in the breeze
There we climb and laugh
How I wish I'd taken a photograph
A broken barrier rests among sand
Meant once to seperate river and land
Torn by a storm that waged war on us
It bit in with it's teeth and made a fuss
A city beyond can be seen
A skyline so full of wonder
There never has been
Yet it makes you ponder
What is better there?
Here in our city we have what we need
Not clearer rivers nor crisper air
Here is where we will succeed
