____________________________________ Spinning Moon _______________________

Once, the moon was always full and bright. But shining like that so often, the moon got tired and eventually the sun realized this during 100BMC and temporarily stopped giving the moon light, so it could rest. However this made the night infinitely dark and was a problem to all below. Now soon even the nocturnal animals were scared. The moon, resting up in the sky soon realized this. Yet, it couldn't be expected to work and give light up there full time! Both the sun and the moon were at a loss for ideas. However Saturn had an idea. Perhaps the moon could spin slowly like a top a little by little the way the earth did while orbiting the sun. They tried it, and it inflicted stages. Slowly the moon came back. First a tiny sliver of the moon, then slowly every night the sliver appeared to grow larger and larger till it was full, then a sliver again. This was very good. Everyone began to use the lunar calendar and the animals began the great moon count which measured moons. For every full moon made 1 moon. The great moon count began. The next moon they counted as 1st moon. As 100 BMC stands for 100 Before Moon Count.... __________________________________ That was a great story. Explains why the moon spins pretty well! Next we have a story that explains the cause of dreams. _______________________________________

Weaving Dreams

______________________ Once there was a sorceress who was named Somni. Now the she had been told by the stars and the moon to speak to humans while they slept. Now Somni knew she couldn't spend all her time doing this and poking her head into people's sleep and talking. Besides who would listen. It would be so strange! So Somni, who was a talented seamstress wove a beautiful contraption that would hang over people's beds when they slept. She enchanted it so that it would bring out the user's subconscious thoughts into a visual form when they slept. As well as this it would pass on the dreams of the user to the next person who used it. She named the effects of the contraption a somnium after her name. However over time the contraption was called a dreamcatcher, because somnium is Latin for dream. Soon dreams began coming without dreamcatchers. Somni was angry that no one used her dreamcatchers anymore, so she unleashed upon the world nightmares. These were horses that visited at night and breathed fear into people while they slept. The poisonous plague spread. Finally Somni realized what she had done and evened it out so both dreams and nightmares happened to people equally. However after so much intensity dreams began to seep into the waking world. These were known as day dreams and were a great problem as people daydreamed often. Somni decided that these could stay as they were good for people's imaginations. She wove even more dream catchers and humans began to weave them too. To this day, dream catchers are still used, and daydreams still pester people. How else could I think of this story?
