Good evening, Poetoters! It's that time of the day again! Granted, this is a bit early, but our first 'See The World' poems about bikes are ready. Today was one of the days with mood restrictions, so I did the best that I could. The guiding emoji really helped the last couple lines take shape, so maybe I'll pick a random emoji for my poems more often!
Noodly Note: Poetiters? What nonsense have you come up with this time
Adventurous Annotation: I could’ve done Poetoers.
Noodly Note: just kill me
Bikes are Interesting
Bikes are odd
Bikes are weird
Meet your impending doom or sit back and relax!
Everyone learns to pedal when young
No one sits around and hums
Riding around, across the street
Riding until you get dizzy
And then you do it all again
But around buildings, with your friends
Now for Noodly Girl's poem!
Riding Down
There's something about
The uphill climb
The hard route
The flip flop in your stomach
The bees buzzing
The sweat on your brow
Vision fuzzing
The clink of the chains
The imaginary rains
The bicycle's groan
There's something about the air at the top
The satisfaction
The impending drop
The still of the world
The buzz of the bees
From the uphill climb
You've been finally freed
There's something about the ride down
The incredible speed
The evaporating frown
The flip flop in your stomach
The bee's distant hum
The forgotten memory
Of from where you've come
The pedals twisting
The air misting
The gliding flight
The morning light
There's something about the end
The knowing of what you've done
The twists and the bends
The uphill climb
The air at the top
The ride down
Without hinder or stop
The light spring breeze
The flat of the land
The panting and sighs
Now you understand

Along with the lengthy piece, Noodly included a design! I believe the poem perfectly captures the essence of riding a bike for me (even though I haven't rode in months, and I can only do it with at least 1 training wheel 😭) and I'm hoping to be able to ride up and down my hill soon (if I can figure out how to ride it on flat roads first). I'll see you tomorrow, and Happy National Poetry Month!
