Happy Tuesday! Today's poems are about the sadness of music. The emoji on the calendar is even crying, so I wonder how you wrote about that.
String of Keys
Every day I press a key
Hear the tune
Scribble down the note
After weeks and weeks
It forms a song
But there's more to it than what it seems
More than one note is never played at once
Except for the day when it's done
Like threading beads on a string
But the beads are invisible until the bracelet's tied
It takes memorization
And consistent dedication
Hopefully the melody is gleamy and pretty
When my piece is done
I play it over and over
The art makes me shed a tear each time
I'm happy, don't get me wrong
But it's just a beautiful song
Full of hard work each day all in hope
Remember, tomorrow's the last day to submit poems for this year's National Poetry Month challenge, since they need to be sent at least 2 days in advance. If you would like to submit a poem reflecting on this month's challenge, please do so by Friday via the second button below. Thanks, and I'll see you tomorrow!
