April 26th - National Poetry Month 2023

It's Free Mood Wednesday!

Noodly Note: no

It's Wednesday, and today's prompt was a paint palette. My poem was inspired by almost every single attempt of mine to use watercolors in art class. I /always/ forget to mix the paint in water first!

Watercolor Sky

Wet the tip of the dainty brush

Dip it into the blue pigment

Quickly wash it off since you forgot to prepare

Fill the palette with water and paint invisibly over the paper

Dip the brush into the pigment once more

Mix it into the water in the palette

Swirl the brush around and drag

The color across the page

Quickly! Sprinkle a dash of salt

And leave it all to dry

The next day, rub off the crystals

Display the dots of color in the bright blue sky

Well, there isn't much else to add, but make sure you submit your poems for the National Poetry Month Challenge finale by Friday so they can be posted on Monday. See you tomorrow!
