April 27th - National Poetry Month 2023

It's Friday Eve everyone, and I'm as ready as you are to get over with the week. We got our field day shirts today though, and I'm on the red team. All my friends are on the 'highlighter' team! Their shirts are neon yellow so they can 'blind their enemies'. (That's just an excuse for the absolutely hideous shirts though.) My friend put an actual highlighter next to the shirt, and it looked the same! This same friend was the first to sign my shirt, and her name takes up the whole back of the shirt... My other friend, who's known for writing on her arm with a Sharpie, signed as 'Sharpie God', and a fellow book lover signed her name, but crossed it out and wrote 'Book Bestie' next to it. I'll post all about field day after the event in a few weeks, and I'll attach a picture of my shirt with all my friends' signatures too!

Now, onto the poems! An excited poem about a gown with a ribbon...

Pockets

The fabric flows and sways

Feeling cool as I step

Skipping around

The train's long but I don't trip

The gown is so pretty

The gown is so beaut

The gown is a gorgeous piece that is wonderful with boots

As soon as I get a compliment, the first thing I say

Thank you, it has pockets!

Nothing is more satisfying than putting on a dress (or any piece of clothing for that matter), and realizing that it has pockets! I'll see you all tomorrow, with some poems about a calligraphy pen.

P.S. - We're nearing 150 posts on Quarantime! Stay tuned for a special post in the upcoming days...
