It's that time of the day again! Usually, between 7 and 9 PM each weekday, I'll post another daily poem article. Today's poem had to be about rainbows, so here's mine!
Surprise
It was raining all week
Incessant pounding of droplets
Ceaseless barrages hitting the dirt
As everyone awoke, the sun finally rose
Kids ran to their windows and to the glass they pressed their nose
Below all the clouds, just behind the tall buildings
A gleam of color, an arc above the air
Noodly Girl also wrote a poem for today, and it's my favorite so far!
The Unattainable Everything
Shining bright
In misted daylight
A thousand hues
Yet just seven
It's entrancing
Alluring
A gleam on metal
A shine in the window
They're everywhere
And nowhere
For only a second
everything
and nothing
just a bit of air and water
in a world on fire
just a flash of color
amid endless blue sky
I loved Noodly Girl's poem! She had a different perspective on the topic given, and that's what this challenge is all about! Expressing your thoughts on the daily theme, and seeing other writers' creativity. Please remember that you can submit a poem for next week (or the week after!), and the procedure is in the original post, linked below. Happy National Poetry Month!
